40 DAY COUNT DOWN!!!

34 weeks
40 days to go
3 weeks till full term
6 weeks til due date!!!

Things have been very busy with work and pioneering last month. ( hence the non blogging)(and the long make up blog! ) It has all been good, but a lot to fit in. Too much for a very pregnant girl. The good news is that it is a new month, my final month...and I am able to wind down more. Or at least just have baby things to do and less work things!!

The feelings..... I have been feeling good over all. My body is holding up, except working. Leaning forward, sitting and repetitive twisting is straining and paining my back. So I am phasing out taking clients after this week. I will just have 2 more days of clients, then can run the company from behind the scenes and savor my final days. Whoohoo! In the mean time I will have to practice as good ergonomics as I can to help with the back strain.

I got a new body pillow to help with my back and neck pain I was getting from sleeping and working. And since then I have slept about 85% better. It is huge and a crazy looking thing! But it has changed my world! Highly recommend the All Nighter by Leechco. Funny thing.... I sleep only if the house is below 60 degrees. ( I am guessing) But if the heater kicks on at all.. no sleep. Matt has blankets only on his half of the bed. For me it is my body pillow, the sheet and that's it.

I still feel a little tired these days but that is to be expected.. and I know I tire myself out and should take more naps.... I am just a bit slower overall and waddle even though I try not too. I am resorting to mostly flat shoes now :( .. I am sure my heels do no good for my back. As Matt would say... " You're asking a lot outta those heels. " Ha!

Emotionally, I feel good too. Excited about Olivia coming into our arms soon. I feel strong mentally to take on labor, and excited about it in a weird way too. I have wonderful, loving, solid support too and that makes me feel confident going into it. I really am looking forward to my life shifting to my roll as a mother. Change is usually very unsettling for me, but ironically I am always changing, often big changes. I feel like I am running straight into this new , like I do, knowing there will be a lot of learning and growing to do once I get there... but I am excited about it all. I will have to look back at this and read it when I feel overwhelmed by all the change. As my mom says... "It's like putting on a new pair of shoes, they feel a little uncomfortable for a while til they get broken in." Bring on the Olivia "shoes"!
In fact look at all her shoes we will be breaking in!!!

We had a really nice, mellow, beautiful, shower early April up in Sacramento. It was lovely to see very dear friends I hadn't seen in a while, some years. Especially my best friend!

We took our first set of baby classes a few weeks ago and it was hilarious with Matt. He had me laughing with tears. I have so much fun when we get time just the 2 of us. It was really fun and informative. We learned a lot about the options through labor as well as side effects and risks. It helped solidify my plan. Then we learned all about the stages of labor and got to "practice" breathing and positioning. That was the funny stuff. Not easy to do seriously in a room of about 30 people. Matt spotted a new mom with her baby getting ready to go home, she walked by the classroom with the nurse, out the hospital doors to check the car seat, and dad proudly got her and mom in the truck and drove off. It was so cute and happy to watch! That will be us soon!
That day at the class, Matt ran into a firefighter buddy that was there , his wife was in labor!

We are so anxious to meet Olivia, we got another ultrasound at 32 weeks. That's it though, no more. I don't want to over-expose her! Here are her latest pics. If is wild how much she has grown. The pics do not show as much since she is bigger! But you can still see those lips!

Last week Matt and I took a day and went shopping for a Olivia's furniture. We found a beautiful crib and dresser and Matt brought it home and put it together the same day. He is so excited! He is quick to do anything Olivia related, and puts off other things he would normally do. Hee...So cute to see. He even transferred the few things he got for her and was storing in his dresser to her new one.

We are almost ready for her!

Her growth is really happening right now.. about a half a pound a week. We can see her moving in my belly which is the neatest thing! I love to just watch her move around and Matt still loves to feel and watch her every time he can. Olivia got the hiccups for the first time last Thursday at meeting. I was so distracted by them I felt a constant light thump and it kept on and on, and then realized what was happening. Matt was there too and I was all excited, and just held my belly and watched for like 3 min straight til it went away! I got a little nervous and hoped she was ok.. then just kept thinking of how funny she must look with the hiccups! This little teeny thing hicccuping. It was so fun.
I am growing too of course, but still loving carrying her around. comparing from last month my belly has really grown! In fact it is bumping into things and people now as I can't squeeze into the spaces I used to. A strange thing...

Here are a few pics from last week and 4 weeks prior.
